Flu Vaccination

*** OUR 2024/25 FLU VACCINATION PROGRAMME HAS NOW FINISHED ***

What is flu and why get vaccinated?

Flu (Influenza) is a highly infectious disease. For most healthy people, a bad case of flu is worse than a heavy cold and often requires a few days in bed. However, for those with an underlying health condition, there is a risk of causing severe illness and developing serious complications from flu.

Getting your flu vaccination will significantly reduce your risk of getting flu, keeping your immune system at its strongest and relieving potential strain on the NHS.

No-one wants to get flu. Apart from the harsh symptoms, many people are concerned about having a length of time off work. Others want to make sure they do not pass it on to the more vulnerable members of your family. Whatever the reason, having the flu vaccine against this year’s strain of seasonal flu can give you protection and peace of mind.

Flu Vaccinations at Pontprennau Pharmacy are carried out by our two qualified pharmacist clinicians Sam Bajjada and Sian Dafydd. Pontprennau Pharmacy offer NHS flu jabs to people aged 18 years and older who are eligible to receive the jab for FREE. The FREE NHS flu jab for the 2024/2025 flu season is eligible in Wales for:
