If our ear health is compromised then our ability to hear deteriorates, and this often causes people to be socially withdrawn. In the United Kingdom, it is estimated that around 3.9% of the population requires management of ear health each year with many people having to wait 12 to 16 weeks to get treatment. These statistics are astonishing and due to the lack of treatment availability with the NHS, many people simply go on living their lives with this condition, unaware that they can get treated at their local pharmacy. We want to help our customers with conditions such as this and that is why we have partnered up with TympaHealth to provide easy and accessible Ear Health services.
Thanks to their amazing new technology, using the TympaHealth system we can quickly diagnose ear & hearing conditions including infections. Following diagnosis, many ear conditions (such as infections) can be treated by the Pharmacist clinician carrying out the test.
Excessive & compacted ear wax may often be identified at your Ear Health check-up initial consultation. Patients with such conditions will be offered earwax removal by Microsuction which is the gold standard for ear wax removal.
Patients may be offered another appointment at this time at a later date (approx. 1 week) which will give sufficient time for ear wax softener ( such as Olive Oil) to work, as this will help the ‘microsuction’ procedure.
The Ear initial Ear Health Consultation should take a maximum of 20 minutes and costs £10.
Ear Wax Removal by Microsuction costs £60.
When ear wax removal is carried out by us, the £10 cost of the initial Ear Health Check up, will be deducted from that price, so the total cost for both Check Up & Wax Removal is £60
